THE HEART BEHIND PCI
The Forever
Kids.
They are not statistics, headlines, or cautionary stories. They are children whose laughter, interests, dreams, relationships, and futures mattered.
held with love. carried through action. ♡
We do not honor children by remembering only how they died. We honor them by building differently for the children who are still here.
A Name Rooted in
Love and Responsibility.
The Forever Kids are the children and young people whose lives ended before their futures could fully unfold.
Some were lost to violence. Some were lost to suicide. Some carried pain that the adults and systems around them did not understand or connect in time.
PCI uses this name with care. It is not meant to define any child by the way they died. It is a promise that their lives will remain part of why we keep building, learning, listening, and acting.
BEFORE THEY WERE HEADLINES
They Were Entire
Little Universes.
They had favorite songs, inside jokes, unfinished homework, best friends, complicated families, talents they had not discovered yet, and plans that were still changing.
Some were loud. Some were quiet. Some were thriving. Some were struggling. Some showed warning signs. Some tried to tell someone. Some never found the words.
PCI will always speak about them as children first, never as evidence for an argument.
WHAT THEIR MEMORY ASKS OF US
Love Has to Become
a Working System.
Notice sooner.
Make it easier to recognize when a student is struggling, isolated, afraid, or asking for help in ways adults may miss.
Listen fully.
Treat every concern as worthy of attention, even when it does not fit neatly into a policy category.
Follow through.
Make sure a report reaches the right person, the next step is owned, and support actually happens.
Stay afterward.
Continue caring for students, families, educators, and communities after the immediate moment has passed.
Every Part of the Work
Comes Back to Them.
The Forever Kids are not a separate memorial attached to PCI. Their dignity is a decision-making standard woven through the organization.
We refuse to sensationalize violence, label struggling students as threats, or use a child’s pain as marketing.
We focus on the relationships and systems that exist long before an emergency response begins.
Young people must have trusted ways to speak, be taken seriously, and understand what happens next.
A concern is not resolved simply because it was reported. Someone must own the next step and confirm follow-through.
Distress is not the same as dangerousness. Support, privacy, disability, safety, and fairness must be considered together.
Communities need sustained care after harm. Healing cannot end when attention moves elsewhere.
A GROWING REMEMBRANCE RECORD
Memory Deserves
Follow-Through.
PCI now keeps a dedicated, sourced record of school communities that shaped the questions behind this work. Each remembrance is paired with the laws, official reviews, investments, and safety changes that followed—because promises made after tragedy should remain visible after public attention moves on.
The record begins with selected communities, including Sandy Hook, Parkland, Santa Fe, Oxford, Uvalde, Covenant, Apalachee, and Brown. It is intentionally non-graphic, does not name perpetrators, and will grow with care.

We Will Not Use Their Memory to Frighten People.
PCI’s work is not about creating fear. It is about creating the relationships, clarity, accountability, and care that make schools safer before a tragedy occurs.
This page will grow thoughtfully. PCI will never publish a child’s name, photograph, or story without appropriate permission and care.
A PROMISE OF DIGNITY
Memory Should Never Become Content.
PCI will not publish a child’s name, photograph, personal history, or family story without appropriate permission.
PCI will not use graphic details, fear-based imagery, or tragedy as a fundraising shortcut.
PCI will distinguish verified evidence from estimates and will correct public information when stronger evidence becomes available.
PCI will center the humanity of children who were harmed and children who were struggling, recognizing that prevention must protect both.
For every child who should still be here.
For every child who is.
Built for the Forever Kids.
