THE PINK CABINET INITIATIVE · NEW JERSEY · EST. 2026
Built for the
Forever Kids.
School safety should feel like connection, clarity, and care. PCI helps K–12 schools build proactive, human-centered systems so no child disappears between the gaps.
Safety Can Feel Human.
School safety is not only about locks, drills, or what happens during an emergency. It is the everyday feeling of knowing someone will notice, listen, and follow through.
A student knows who they can trust.
An adult knows exactly what happens next.
A family knows their child will be heard.
Every partner understands their role.
That is the system PCI is building. ♥
THE GAP PCI ADDRESSES
A Concern Should Never
Disappear Between Systems.
Most schools already have caring people, important policies, and valuable resources. The gap often appears in what happens between them.
After someone speaks up, who owns the next step?
Build belonging, prevention, awareness, and trusted relationships.
Create reporting pathways that are clear, welcoming, and taken seriously.
Define who is responsible, what happens next, and how follow-through is confirmed.
Continue supporting students, families, staff, and the wider school community.
Not Another Binder
on a Shelf.
PCI helps school communities turn care and good intentions into a living system that people can understand, trust, and use.
A Culture of Belonging
Students are more likely to speak up when they feel seen, respected, and connected.
Trusted Ways to Report
Students, families, and staff need clear ways to share concerns without fear or confusion.
Clear Ownership
Every concern should have a next step, a responsible person, and documented follow-through.
Stronger Handoffs
Schools, families, providers, and public safety partners need systems that connect.
Practice That Feels Real
Training should prepare people to communicate and make decisions under pressure.
Recovery That Stays
Support should not disappear when the immediate incident or concern is over.
HOW PARTNERSHIP WORKS
We Build With Schools,
Not Around Them.
Every community is different. PCI listens first, learns what already works, identifies where students may be falling through, and builds from there.
- 01Listen
Understand the school as it actually operates.
- 02Map
Trace reporting, ownership, handoffs, and resources.
- 03Build
Create a practical roadmap that fits the community.
- 04Practice
Turn written procedures into shared understanding.
- 05Learn
Measure progress and strengthen the system over time.
A FOUNDING PILOT PARTNERSHIP
One School Can
Start a Ripple.
PCI is preparing for a focused pilot partnership designed to show what proactive, whole-community school safety can look like in practice.

THE CONVERSATION IS GROWING
People Are Leaning In.
PCI is being strengthened through conversations with respected leaders across education, public safety, government, community philanthropy, behavioral science, and national school safety work.
“Different rooms. Different expertise.
The same message: keep going.
These conversations are not presented as formal endorsements. They show that leaders from different fields recognize the need for stronger systems before a crisis occurs.

I Know What It Feels Like
to Fall Through the Gaps.
I did not build PCI because school safety was an interesting topic to study. I built it because I know what it feels like when small gaps become sinkholes.
I also know what one caring adult can change. My one homebound teacher helped me find my way back to graduation when I could not see that path for myself. PCI exists to help schools turn that kind of care into something students do not have to find by luck.
Every child deserves to be noticed. Every concern deserves a next step. Every act of care deserves a system strong enough to carry it forward.
